Boys lacrosse equipment includes; a stick, helmet, mouth guard, gloves, shoulder and elbow pads and cleats.
All boys’ teams in Danvers Youth Lacrosse participate in the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL). MBYLL is designed to promote the growth of lacrosse in Massachusetts. Some highlights to the MBYLL philosophy are:
- No ‘A’ or ‘B’ teams
- Players are supposed to receive equal playing time
- Coaches receive educational support in both lacrosse fundamentals and positive coaching
- MBYLL rules are modified to promote sportsmanship
DYL enters teams in the following divisions:
LITTLE LAXERS (Grade K)
Starting this May, Danvers Youth Lacrosse is excited to announce our brand new Little Laxers Program (U5). Little Laxers will be a combined program for both boys and girls in Kindergarten. Our kindergarten lacrosse players will have the opportunity to learn the game through this great teaching program. DYL coaches, will teach the players the rules and skills of lacrosse in a fun, safe and welcoming environment.
The players will be learning the basics of lacrosse through drills and games on a smaller stick and softer ball, which will be provided for you. The players run around and develop their basic skills without equipment and mouth guard which can often hinder their success as they are trying to learn lacrosse at this young age. Our interest in this program for our players has been in the works and is just now being put into action. All equipment for this program will be provided through Danvers Youth Lacrosse.
